Retinol is a healthy form of vitamin A which can be used as deep exfoliant for the skin.  Unlike certain acids (which break down glue between cells and causes exfoliation), retinol work by going deeper into the dermis layer and targeting the fibroblast cell.  This causes greater cell turnover, the production of growth factors, Hyaluronic acid (hydrating) and collagen / elastin production.

Retinol peels can be used for different reasons compared to acid peels.  Retinol itself can stay in the skin for many weeks after application and can have consistent short and long term benefits:

1. It stops the build up of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, which means you will have constant fresh looking appearance.

2. Minimises the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles due to collagen and elastin production.

3. Helps clear acne as the constant renewal of skin cells, prevents bacteria build up on surface of skin.

4. Boosts skin elasticity and plumpness.

Retinol peels can be used in combination with PCA perfecting peel for a mix of acid and retinol peeling.  Our retinol peels come in two strengths 4% and 6%, depending on the level of exfoliation required. 

Retinol peels are usually complimented by the PCA home care range including home retinol cream.

Skin may take 2 days to begin peeling and can take up to 14 days to completely heal.   

Note: Our chemical peels can only be used by trained staff and will only be supplied after a consultation. 

A minimum of 3 skin peel sessions are usually required to achieve optimum results, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.  Results can be seen after a single session.
